We are looking for an experienced Oracle & PostgreSQL Database Developer with 6+ years of experience in Oracle and PostgreSQL database development, migration, and optimization. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, PL/pgSQL, database migration, schema design, scripting, and database performance optimization. Experience with Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration and open-source database technologies will be highly valuable.

Job Details
- Perform migration of Oracle databases to open-source database platforms such as PostgreSQL.
- Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, triggers, indexes, sequences, and constraints.
- Understand business requirements and design efficient database models and schemas.
- Develop database scripts using stored functions, procedures, packages, triggers, and other database objects.
- Design optimal database solutions to improve system quality, performance, and efficiency.
- Develop ETL code, update SQL statements, and create shell scripts as required.
- Follow database development and design best practices.
- Maintain technical documentation for database solutions and processes.
- Coordinate database development and migration activities with team members and other departments.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database versions 11G, 12C, and 19C.
- Strong expertise in SQL and PL/SQL.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL 12 and above.
- Good knowledge of PL/pgSQL.
- Experience with SQL*Plus, SQL Developer, PL/SQL Developer, or TOAD for Oracle, with proficiency in at least two tools.
- Hands-on experience with pgAdmin for PostgreSQL.
- Experience using Git repositories and GitHub Copilot.
- Exposure to AI-based development tools is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of database schemas, tables, triggers, indexes, sequences, and constraints.
- Strong knowledge of database scripting, stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of database design, optimization, and performance improvement.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration tools such as Ora2Pg or PGLoader.
- Knowledge of database migration tools used with Microsoft Azure.
- Basic knowledge of Java.
- Basic knowledge of Shell scripting and Jenkins.
- Experience or exposure to the EDI domain.
- Knowledge of MariaDB or other open-source database technologies.
- Experience with ETL development and database migration projects.
Soft Skills
- Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on complex technical issues.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good inter-departmental communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong team-player mindset.
Certificate: Oracle / PostgreSQL Database Certification (Good to have)
