We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer – DBT & Hadoop with strong expertise in DBT (Data Build Tool), SQL, and the Hadoop ecosystem. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in designing, developing, and optimizing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, data transformation workflows, and enterprise data solutions using modern data engineering practices.

Job Details

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using DBT and Hadoop technologies.
  • Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows for structured and semi-structured data.
  • Create reusable DBT models, macros, tests, snapshots, and documentation.
  • Develop scalable data transformation processes using SQL and DBT.
  • Work with Hadoop ecosystem technologies including Hive, HDFS, Spark, YARN, and Sqoop.
  • Optimize SQL queries, data pipelines, and transformation workflows for performance and scalability.
  • Perform data validation, quality checks, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow Git version control and CI/CD best practices.
  • Collaborate with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and Business teams to deliver data solutions.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation for data engineering processes.

Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with DBT (Data Build Tool).
  • Excellent proficiency in SQL and data transformation.
  • Good experience with the Hadoop ecosystem.
  • Hands-on experience with Hive, HDFS, Spark, YARN, and/or Sqoop.
  • Experience developing scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines.
  • Experience with DBT models, macros, tests, snapshots, and documentation.
  • Understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of data quality, governance, security, and privacy principles.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud data platforms.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery.
  • Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
  • Hands-on experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.

Certificate: DBT or Cloud Data Engineering Certification (Good to have)
